Activities in the field of publishing scientific publications and scientific editing are not properly valued in the Polish science and higher education system, as publishing publications, including electronic publications and webmastering, and scientific editing of scientific journals are not included in the academic evaluation system at all, and scientific editing of monographs in the humanities and social sciences is scored very low (level II publishing house: 150 points; level I publishing house: 40 points; publishing house not on the list: 10 points) – see the Komunikat Ministra Edukacji i Nauki z dnia 22 lipca 2021 r. w sprawie wykazu wydawnictw publikujących recenzowane monografie naukowe (Announcement of the Minister of Education and Science of July 22, 2021, regarding the list of publishing houses publishing peer-reviewed scientific monographs) and the amendment: Rozporządzenie Ministra Edukacji i Nauki z dnia 19 października 2021 r. zmieniające rozporządzenie w sprawie ewaluacji jakości działalności naukowej (Regulation of the Minister of Education and Science of October 19, 2021, amending the regulation on the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity).
From the perspective of integrated science-of-science, which I practice, this state of affairs constitutes a very serious error in the system of evaluating a researcher, because publishing and editing scientific publications plays a very important culture-forming role, generating communication between authors and the scientific community, the aim of which is to create a mature scientific discourse/critical scientific discussion; the aforementioned communication consists in transmitting/making available reliable (critically developed) information about the developing scientific discourses of the authors, which may result in further reception of these publications through their critical discussions or continuation (i.e. the publication of new, critically developed publications).
For this reason, despite the prevailing pseudoscientific ideologies / pathologies of citations, scoriosis, and grantosis in Poland, I have been involved in publishing and editing scientific publications for years. Below is a list of my most important achievements in this field.
